Celebrity slaps...

 Hi, I am Mark, I am a grade 10 student and currently learning in Mary Ward High-school. I was born in the Philippines on August,16,2006, and am also currently a 15-year-old student. 

In this blog, I will be commenting on my opinion about the famous news "Celebrity slaps" between the actor, Will Smith and Chris Rock. In our world, celebrities should be known as the people who also have a high understanding of acting properly as they can be examples to people watching them. However, this news about Will Smith, is the opposite of that role of being a celebrity or an actor, as he acted selfishly and without thinking. Now, both actors, no one is right or wrong, but they should be able to know that they shouldn't do such a thing in front of other audience who admires them.

Celebrities should be held to a higher standard than others, due to their position they have the role to be around on social media. Therefore, they should have an understanding of how the way they act can influence others. With their role, some people can admire and follow the things they do, so \demonstrating a bad influence to others can affect their fans forming a bad relationship with others as well. 

My opinion about the persons involved is that the way both of them acted is very ungrateful. Chris rock expressing the joke that can be disrespectful and Will Smith expressing his feeling by slapping him and saying a bad word. The way both acted shouldn't be the way for both of them to express something because, in my opinion, it shows a bad example to younger or even adult people. 

If the actor I admire acted the way Will smith expressed his feeling, I would feel less about them, as they are the people I admire and look up to. I would feel that the way they acted is not the way they should imply their feelings, because it is a bad example and unacceptable. 

Another celebrity that acted unexpectedly, is Snoop Dogg, although this time it is not a physical expression instead, he expressed his feelings by saying bad influence words to an interview who had threatened Kobe Bryant. The interview named, Gayle King, interviewed one of the WNBA players and inquired about Kobe Bryant's 2003 sexual assault case, but no one was angrier than Snoop Dogg, who was a longtime friend of the late basketball superstar. The rapper released an expletive-laden Instagram video that seemed to threaten King, with him saying "Back off, b----, before we come to get you" in one part. However, some time passed and Snoop dog regretted the way he acted and later did a full apology to the fans and especially to the interviewer.

In my opinion, there is a responsibility for the celebrity to be held when they acted poorly. If there is nothing, then they should have one, because if the celebrities acted poorly, then they should also understand that the way they acted is unacceptable to fans and should regret and apologize for their actions. It can also influence others in the way they act. 

My final thought about this event, is that this should be an example to all celebrities out there, that acting without thinking of the circumstances can also influence other people who admire them. Having this unexpected and unacceptable event should make the officials learn about the purpose of their acts.
